Getting Around St John
Renting a car:
St John is a small island with tons to see so my recommendation would be to rent a 4×4 and explore the whole island while you’re there. Most of the best beaches are located on the North Shore however the Coral Bay area has a world famous boat up/floating taco bar called Lime Out! Their taco’s are some of the best I have ever had anywhere.
There are plenty of car rental agencies on the island that rent jeeps but they often sell out so make sure to reserve in advance.
As mentioned renting on St Thomas is also a great option to consider. Make sure the rental agency you rent from and the type of car your rent is allowed to go on the barge to St. John in advance of reserving on St. Thomas.
There are tons of rental car places on the Island as well. To view a list of rental companies, please Click Here
Taxis:
There is regular taxi services located in the town of Cruz Bay. Many of the taxis hang out by the passenger ferry dock waiting for passengers. Pricing is per person so if you are traveling alone or with another person it isn’t too expensive but with large groups the prices add up.

Bus
There is a city bus that operates on the Island and costs only a dollar. For schedule information and routes see here:
